Why Investing In Personal Development & Learning Matters?

On the grid at the 24H Barcelona. Photographing the 24H Barcelona endurance race by the 24H Series.

Your brain didn’t come with a lifetime warranty. In today’s world, staying still means falling behind, and personal development is the key to keeping you sharp, adaptable, and ahead of the curve. Investing in learning isn’t just about adding more acronyms to your résumé—it’s about unlocking fresh ideas, building confidence, and turning challenges into opportunities (instead of stress headaches). The sooner you start, the bigger the payoff. And unlike that treadmill in your garage, this is one investment you’ll actually use.

In motorsport, the cars aren’t the only things moving fast - the opportunities are, too. Investing in your photography skills through a dedicated workshop means you’re not just snapping pictures, you’re capturing split-second stories that will help you grow and set you apart from the competition. You’ll learn techniques you can’t get from YouTube tutorials, gain insider tips from pros who have ‘been there, done that’ and build confidence to go from strength to strength in the highly competitive world of motorsport photography.

In short: upgrade yourself, because standing still is the fastest way to get left behind.

Capture the 12H Nürburgring with An Official Media Pass

On the grid at the 24H Barcelona. Photographing the 24H Barcelona endurance race by the 24H Series.

Step into the professional arena of motorsport photography with an opportunity that goes far beyond a conventional motorsport photography workshop, and one not found anywhere else globally.

In 2026, join us at the 12H Nürburgring for a motorsport photography training and professional development program built specifically for photographers who are serious about turning access into a career. Participants will operate with a full media pass, working in real-world conditions from trackside, pit lane, and other restricted areas typically accessible only to established media professionals.

This workshop is designed as a comprehensive career accelerator rather than a casual learning experience. You will develop the technical, logistical, and professional competencies required to work effectively with a media pass - understanding where and when to shoot, how to operate safely and efficiently within a live race environment, and how to deliver imagery that meets editorial and commercial standards.

Beyond shooting, the training addresses the business realities of motorsport photography. You will gain practical insight into building a professional portfolio, securing clients, navigating future media accreditation, and positioning yourself within the motorsport media ecosystem.

Opportunities at this level are exceptionally rare. This is not a spectator experience and it is not recreational. It is a purpose-built, globally unique pathway for photographers committed to advancing into professional motorsport media.

  • This is not a conventional workshop. It is a dedicated career development and training platform for motorsport photographers who are serious about working in professional motorsport.

If you want to understand what it truly takes to operate as an accredited motorsport photographer, it starts well beyond the fences. This program is designed to move you into the working environment - where positioning, timing, access, and professional conduct matter as much as technical skill.

Participants will step inside the media areas of the 12H Nürburgring alongside an experienced professional motorsport photographer, operating with a media pass and learning firsthand how top-level motorsport coverage is produced. From pit lane and paddock access to prime trackside locations, you will work in the same conditions expected of established media photographers.

This is not a spectator experience. It is professional-level access that enables you to produce portfolio-defining imagery - work that demonstrates credibility, capability, and readiness to operate at the highest level of the sport.

In addition, you will become part of a focused community of motorsport photographers. The program places equal value on collaboration, discussion, and professional networking, creating space for meaningful conversations about the world of motorsport photography, the industry, and the realities of building a long-term career in motorsport photography.

  • With a full and official media pass, you’ll be shooting like a pro - up close and personal with the heart-pounding chaos of the pit lane, the behind-the-scenes buzz of team garages, and the best trackside spots where the action practically explodes right in front of you.

Every angle, every perspective, every adrenaline-soaked moment? Yours for the taking. And when it’s time to cool off, you’ll have access to the media centre - aka where the pros’ hangout - for editing, refuelling, and swapping “did you see that?!” moments.

    This isn’t just access. It’s all-access.

  • If you’re already producing solid work and looking to really boost your motorsport imagery to a professional standard, this is where you make that leap.

We move well beyond entry-level fundamentals. Instead, you’ll refine high-precision techniques that challenge your timing, your creative instincts, and your ability to read and anticipate race dynamics.

You’ll develop images that do more than freeze motion; they convey narrative, atmosphere, and intent. Photographs that cut through the noise, command attention, and position you as someone who understands the craft at a professional level.

With targeted coaching designed for semi-pro and advanced photographers, you will fine-tune your visual style, enhance your technical execution, and build a portfolio polished enough to compete in the professional arena.

This isn’t a step forward - it’s the performance upgrade that moves your motorsport photography into a different category entirely.

  • Turn your passion into a career by learning the business side of motorsport photography. Discover how to attract clients, build lasting relationships, and navigate the world of agencies and media outlets. Gain insider knowledge on licensing, contracts, and professional etiquette while learning how to network effectively within the motorsport industry - so your trackside shots don’t just impress, they pay.

  • We know you're busy, but we're not just going to throw you into the deep end in Germany. This workshop starts with a pre-trip online session. Consider this your warm-up lap before the main event.

And we don't just abandon you once the checkered flag waves. After the trip, we'll have a post-workshop editing and review session. This is where we make sure you get the most out of your shots, giving you more feedback and showing you how to turn those raw files into something truly spectacular.

Motorsport Photography Tuition

Benefit from industry-leading motorsport photography coaching delivered by seasoned professional Richard Towler, with training focused not only on image creation but on operating effectively as a working motorsport photographer.

You will develop advanced, professional-level shooting techniques, including dynamic composition under pressure, precise timing, and disciplined camera setup for high-speed environments. The training emphasises working methodically through changing light, weather, and track conditions, enabling you to consistently produce usable, publishable imagery across an entire race weekend. Techniques such as panning, controlled motion blur, and subject isolation are taught in the context of real editorial and commercial requirements, not isolated exercises.

A key focus is learning how to photograph endurance racing as a professional assignment. You will gain a structured understanding of circuit layout, race flow, class strategy, and timing—knowing where to be, when to be there, and why—so you can plan coverage strategically and deliver a complete visual narrative rather than isolated standout frames.

Post-production and workflow are treated as an essential part of professional practice. Editing sessions will focus on efficient culling, consistent colour and exposure, and preparing images for clients, teams, and publications. You will learn how to build a reliable editing workflow that supports fast turnaround times, maintains quality under pressure, and aligns with industry expectations.

Beyond technique, the coaching addresses the realities of working professionally: how to shoot with purpose, create client-ready deliverables, and position your work to attract teams, sponsors, and media outlets. The objective is not just improvement, but readiness—equipping you with the skills, mindset, and processes required to operate credibly in professional motorsport photography.

What Our Clients Say:

  • "I attended the 24H of Barcelona workshop with Trackside Focus (formerly The Photographic Adventure Company) in September of 2024 and it was amazing. Both Greg and Mike were incredibly insightful and helpful. Everything once we landed in Barcelona was flawless (even recovering my phone that I left in the taxi). The access, insight and tuition were excellent, and I highly recommend booking a trip with Greg and the team, I cannot give enough credit to the excellent product that they have put together."

Isaac - 24H Barcelona Motorsport Photography Holiday 2024

  • "I booked it, loved it and kept working on being a motorsport photographer! Worth the time and money if you love cars like I do. Greg, the owner - extremely nice guy and extremely passionate about his business. He was very detailed oriented and kept making sure I was doing good during the whole trip. He honestly was more of a friend than the owner of the business to us."

Tak - 24H Dubai Motorsport Photography Holiday 2025

  • "I attended the British GT holiday at Brands Hatch and had a brilliant time. The Photographic Adventure Company (TPAC) managed the event brilliantly and saw to it that all the guests could maximise their experience. The photographic instruction was excellent and I was able to learn loads with two days access to a professional motorsport photographer. It's difficult to quantify these things sometimes, but the holiday was definitely worth the price. I had a great time."

Chris - British GT Motorsport Photography Holiday 2024

  • "Absolutely amazing trip, enjoyed every second. Greg and Mike were fantastic, and the other guys in the group were friendly and knowledgeable. I cant recommend going on a tour highly enough. Trust in these kinds of services is paramount and Greg and the team pulled out all the stops. Don't think about it, just book it."

Chris - 24H Barcelona Motorsport Photography Holiday 2024

  • "Having only been to a live motorsport race once and this being the first time trying to capture some images, going with The Photographic Adventure Company was the best decision! As everything from the communication before, during and after were great from Greg and Dan. The British GT weekend working with Dan was just amazing his knowledge and encouragement was just what i needed, as its easy to try and capture the same type of images as everyone else but Dan was a great help on suggesting classic motorsport shots but also making sure you as a photographer put your own style and trust your eye to capture what you see. I'll be definitely looking to do more in the future!"
