Why Investing In Personal Development & Learning Matters?
Your brain didn’t come with a lifetime warranty. In today’s world, staying still means falling behind, and personal development is the key to keeping you sharp, adaptable, and ahead of the curve. Investing in learning isn’t just about adding more acronyms to your résumé—it’s about unlocking fresh ideas, building confidence, and turning challenges into opportunities (instead of stress headaches). The sooner you start, the bigger the payoff. And unlike that treadmill in your garage, this is one investment you’ll actually use.
In motorsport, the cars aren’t the only things moving fast - the opportunities are, too. Investing in your photography skills through a dedicated workshop means you’re not just snapping pictures, you’re capturing split-second stories that will help you grow and set you apart from the competition. You’ll learn techniques you can’t get from YouTube tutorials, gain insider tips from pros who have ‘been there, done that’ and build confidence to go from strength to strength in the highly competitive world of motorsport photography.
In short: upgrade yourself, because standing still is the fastest way to get left behind.
Master Motorsport Photography at the BTCC
Immerse yourself in the heart of the British Touring Car Championship’s 2026 season with two standalone motorsport photography workshops: the season-opening weekend at Donington Park and a summer session at the notoriously fast Thruxton circuit in July 2026. Each workshop offers its own environment, pace, and photographic challenges, giving you the flexibility to book either event or even attend both to broaden your experience. In each setting, you’ll receive personalised and bespoke photography guidance helping you to refine your technique, sharpen your eye for race-day action, and discover just how addictive motorsport photography can be.
Professional, exciting, and just the right amount of chaotic - consider this your fast-track to upping your motorsport photography game.
-
Stop wasting your race weekends wandering around the circuit like a lost tourist with a camera and instead learn from photographers who have worked within the realms of top international motorsport series such as F1®, WEC, International GT, Moto GP, 24H Series and domestic series such as IMSA, British GT & BTCC.
You’ll learn exactly where to stand, when to be ready, and which corners deliver the best drama (and light) at different times of day.
From anticipating braking and overtaking zones to knowing when the action is about to explode, you’ll start reading the track like a seasoned photographer rather than leaving it to luck.
With expert guidance, you’ll start turning every future race weekend into a goldmine of high-impact shots - no guesswork, no wasted opportunities. Consider this workshop the ultimate shortcut to smarter, sharper motorsport photography.
-
These workshops are your opportunity to enhance your motorsport photography skills with personalised and bespoke motorsport photography tuition and coaching from two professional motorsport photographers - Mark Timms (Donington Park) and Michal Pospisil (Thruxton Circuit). Not just ‘photography instructors’ but motorsport photographers with real life experience of working at the world of motorsport photography.
You'll learn essential techniques like composition, framing, and focusing to capture dynamic, high-speed action with precision and style. With hands-on guidance in a small group setting, you'll develop a creative eye and gain confidence in shooting the fast-paced world of motorsport.
-
Both of these workshops include a pre-workshop online session where you can showcase your portfolio and receive valuable tips before heading to either Donington Park Circuit or Thruxton Circuit.
After the workshops, join a post-workshop editing and review session to receive further feedback and guidance.
Motorsport Photography Tuition
Join one of our BTCC motorsport photography workshops in 2026. The first one takes place at the legendary Donington Park Circuit, for the 2026 season opener, which is then followed by a summer sizzler at Thruxton Circuit, for some mid-season drama.
With professional, award-winning motorsport photography coaching and tuition, you’ll learn how to capture the raw energy, drama, and speed of BTCC racing like never before. You’ll learn to capture the chaos, speed, and drama of BTCC racing without ending up with 500 identical shots of blurred asphalt. This hands-on workshop is all about sharpening your skills in real race-day conditions - think precision, flair, and less “oops, I missed it again.”
You’ll master essential techniques such as:
Tracking fast-moving cars with precision using panning and motion blur.
Adapting to changing weather and lighting typical of UK circuits.
Framing high-impact shots that tell a story.
Creating standout portfolio-worthy and atmosphere-rich compositions.
Whether you're shooting from trackside or exploring creative angles around the paddock and circuit, we will guide you through the process of anticipating the moment and executing it with confidence.
Post-Event Editing & Feedback Sessions
And because we’re nice like that, learning doesn’t stop when the chequered flag drops. Our post-event editing and feedback sessions will turn your raw chaos into polished masterpieces. You’ll get tailored advice, hands-on guidance, and follow-up feedback, so you can finally stop blaming your camera and start building a portfolio that actually impresses.

Workshop Leaders
-
Michal is a UK-based, award-winning photographer from Czechia with a deep passion for motorsport. He began exploring photography in 2016 and discovered his calling two years later at the race track.
Seeing photography as the ultimate way to be part of motorsport, he honed his craft tirelessly, developing a bold and creative style that caught the attention of Digital Camera World magazine, which featured him in 2021. His big break came when Goodwood Road and Racing invited him to join their team of official photographers, where he covered major events like the Festival of Speed and Revival over three seasons. Now freelancing for GT-REPORT, Michal continues to shoot world-class events such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans, WEC 6 hours of Spa, GTWC Europe and many historic sports car festivals. At these events, Michal had the privilege to work for some successful teams and drivers, Andre Lotterer, David Brabham and Karun Chandhok, to name but a few.
Michal is always pushing himself creatively on and off track to capture the essence of racing, the feeling of speed and emotions in every photo. Thanks to his hard work and dedication, he has won the International Photo Awards in both amateur and professional categories, and has been nominated three times for the British Photo Awards and was twice a finalist in the World Sport Photography Awards.

Mark Timms has been photographing racing cars for over 20 years. Having been hooked into motor racing as a young child, he then mixed his passion of creative photography that he learned in his teens through browsing DIRT and MOTO magazines, into what he was seeing at racing tracks around the UK, to create the style of imagery he is known for today.
Having worked within the realms of international series such as F1®, WEC, Intercontinental GT, Moto GP, and domestic series such as IMSA, British GT, Mark has garnered a wealth of knowledge with regards to what kind of images can be created at race tracks around the world, that show the event being held upon them in their greatest light.
Winning multiple prestigious awards throughout his career, this has led his work to be published globally and used to promote various brands, drivers and products within the racing world. Ensuring his imagery continues to be dedicated to the emotive story telling notions that he presents, he is dedicated to passing on his knowledge to others in order for them to enjoy their own photographic journeys.
